Q258term
Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
mld47/Df(3R)crb87-5 mutants appear to develop normally up to the first larval stage. However, these animals fail to complete the first larval molt. Instead of molting, the mutant larvae continue to grow to the size of second instar larvae and contain a well-developed fat body, a structure not normally visible in first instar larvae, indicating that the larvae continue to feed. These larvae have enlarged ecdysone-producing gland cells, that in turn contain enlarged nuclei. The majority of mld47/Df(3R)crb87-5 larvae die at 3-5 days of age. Levels of ecdysteroid production are reduced in mld47/Df(3R)crb87-5 mutants; addition of these substances partially rescues the mld47/Df(3R)crb87-5 phenotype.
mld4425/mld47 has lethal | first instar larval stage phenotype, non-suppressible by spoUAS.cOa/Scer\GAL4phtm.PO
mld4425/mld47 has lethal | first instar larval stage phenotype, non-suppressible by Scer\GAL4phtm.PO/spokUAS.cOa
Expression of either spoScer\UAS.cOa or spokScer\UAS.cOa under the control of Scer\GAL4phm.PO fails to suppress the lethal phenotype of mld47/mld4425 mutants.
