Activation of fan-shaped body dopaminergic neurons through overexpression of temperature sensitive TrpA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4^104Y produces a large increase in the amount of sleep seen in mature (7-8 day old) flies, but has a less severe effect on young (1 day old) flies.
