Expression of Hsap\SGCDS151A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to temporally restrict expression during adult stage) results in a progressive deterioration in cardiac function as shown by an increase in end-diastolic dimension and end-systolic dimension with a resultant decrease in fractional shortening.
Expression of Hsap\SGCDS151A.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 results in impaired systolic function with enlarged diastolic parameters compared to controls, indicating that Hsap\SGCDS151A.Scer\UAS has a dominant-negative effect on cardiac dysfunction. Flies expressing Hsap\SGCDS151A.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB, exhibit similar cardiac parameters as controls, before heat shock. Heat-shock induced expression results in impaired systolic function and enlarged diastolic dimensions.
