Pan-mesodermal expression of HandScer\UAS.T:en-Rep, driven by both Scer\GAL4twi.PG and Scer\GAL4how-24B, disrupts embryonic heart formation. The number of cardioblasts and pericardial cells are reduced in these embryos. The residual cardiac cells are able to migrate to the dorsal midline at the end of embryogenesis, but their alignment is disrupted. In addition to the heart defects, the formation of lymph gland hematopoietic progenitor is completely blocked. Expression of HandScer\UAS.T:en-Rep under the control of Scer\GAL4HCH.Hand causes the same effects.
