Expression of Arl2GD12240 driven by Scer\GAL4insc.PU results in supernumerary neuroblasts in the third instar larval central brain and .

Arl2GD12240 clones have extra neuroblasts in both type I (Scer\GAL4ase.neuro) and II (Scer\GAL4wor.PA and Scer\GAL80ase.PN) neuroblast lineages, compared to a single neuroblast in control clones (third instar larval central brain).

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in loss of neuroblasts in the larval brain associated with decreased size of the remaining neuroblasts.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in a reduction in the average size of neuroblasts together with shorter neuroblast lineages (less daughter cells per neuroblast) in the larval brain compared to controls.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in a decrease in the average size of ganglion mother cells in the larval brain compared to controls.

Adults expressing Arl2GD12240 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
