UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
The expression of CampGD5006 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU, Scer\GAL4cg.PU or Scer\GAL4da.PU leads to a severe decrease in survival upon infection (i.e. injection) with the bacterium Mycobacterium marinum but not under basal, non-infected conditions, as compared to controls; expression under the control of either Scer\GAL4cg.PU or Scer\GAL4da.PU also leads to a significant increase in the bacterial load 3 days after Mycobacterium marinum infection, as compared to controls.
