UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Pan-neuronal expression of stasGD3415 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 (co-expressed with Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) results in an increase in neuromuscular junction evoked excitatory postsynaptic potential (eEPSP) amplitudes to 127% of controls. Expression in motor neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4VGlut-OK371 has no effect, whereas expression in the cholinergic neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4Cha.7.4 reduces eEPSP amplitude to a similar extent as pan-neuronal stas knockdown.
Adults expressing stasGD3415 under the control of the cardioblast-specific Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 driver show significantly reduced survival on day 6 after a shift to 29[o]C compared to control flies.
Adults expressing stasGD3415 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
