      Expression of PepckGD16827 under the control of Scer\GAL4Lsp2.3.1 (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit expression to adulthood) leads to increase in cell death in early germline cysts in the germarium and their reduced size compared to controls, while it has no negative effect on either germline stem cell proliferation and maintenance or vitellogenesis.
