UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of TbhGD6449 under the control of Scer\GAL4dimm-929 does not affect sensitivity to (S,Z,Z)-CH503 (a more potent stereoisomer of the gustatory sex pheromone CH503). As in wild type flies, courtship defects are seen in response to (S,Z,Z)-CH503.
Expression of TbhGD6449 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in combination with a Dicer-2 transgene to enhance RNAi efficiency) results in a complete loss of egg-laying and a significant increase in female remating within 1hr of mating, as compared to controls.
Adults expressing TbhGD6449 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
