Five tandem repeats of a 441bp genomic region from the first intron of Socs36E, which contains two potential Stat92E binding sites, are cloned upstream of a minimal heat shock promoter driving expression of EGFP.

AvicGFPStat92E.10X is expressed in drpr and repo positive glial cells and is up-regulated in response to axotomy.

AvicGFPStat92E.10X reporter activity is highly asymmetric within the anterior of the stage 14 large intestine. Cells on the inside of the hindgut curve show higher pathway activity than cells at comparable distances from the Upd-expressing large intestine on the outside of the curve. This difference in reporter activity is significant and not a consequence of increased cell density. Asymmetry in reporter activity is mirrored by expression of the endogenous JAK/STAT pathway target gene Socs36E.

In second instar larvae, reporter expression is observed throughout the disc proper. By early third instar, expression is repressed in the distal pouch and proximal notum,conincident with nub and eyg expression in these regions.

A subset of the dorsomedial neurosecretory cells labelled by AvicGFPStat92E.10X also express ScerGAL4VGAT.PF.

This GFP-reporter of JAK-STAT signaling is specifically expressed in the cells at the junction of the foregut and the midgut in third instar larvae.

Stat92E reporter is expressed in ISCs and enteroblasts.
