Expression of Hsap\KCNJ2AAE.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW alters the passive membrane properties of muscles. The resting membrane potential is hyperpolarised, the input resistance is decreased and the muscle membrane time constant is faster compared to controls.
The average amplitude of spontaneous miniature-release events (mEPSPs) of muscles expressing Hsap\KCNJ2AAE.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW is significantly smaller than that of controls. Evoked synaptic depolarisations (EPSPs) depolarise the muscle to the same absolute membrane potential as in the wild type.
