W452term
G to A nucleotide change at the second or third position of the Trp codon leads to a nonsense mutation (exact site of mutation unspecified). Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase base on reported amino acid change.
dorsal appendage | maternal effect (with AGO3t2)
egg | maternal effect (with AGO3t2)
AGO3t2/AGO3t3 females are sterile, initially laying far fewer eggs than their control siblings and stopping laying altogether by stage 10. None of the eggs laid by these females hatch and many of them have fused or missing dorsal appendages.
AGO3t2/AGO3t3 males are semifertile, siring fewer offspring than do control males with the same genetic background. Ste protein crystals form in primary spermatocytes in AGO3t2/AGO3t3 testes.
AGO3t3 is a non-suppressor of neoplasia phenotype of l(3)mbtts1
The frequency with which l(3)mbtts1 larval brain tissue develops into tumours after allograft into adult host flies (taking over the entire abdomen of the host) is not significantly altered if the transplanted tissue is also homozygous for AGO3t3.
