UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of Chmp1HM05117 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU or Scer\GAL4tub.PU results in lethality at or before the pupal stage.
Expression of Chmp1GD11219 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in thickening of wing veins at 28[o]C.
Clones expressing Chmp1HM05117 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU in the wing have smooth edges. Clones that overlap wing veins result in intervein cells adopting a vein fate. This phenotype is autonomous to the mutant clone cells. Clones located within an intervein can have no effect on cell fate, but in some cases cells within the clone have characteristics of vein cells (such as darkened pigmentation and increased hair density).
