Comment:

Inferred boundaries of a 1,282 bp deletion resulting from the imprecise excision of P{EP}POSHEP1206, which removes the ATG and first half of the coding sequence of POSH.

Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

POSH74 homozygous mutants do not show any synaptic overgrowth at larval neuromuscular junction (assessed by the number of boutons and NMJ length) but the crawling velocity of third instar larvae is significantly reduced compared to wild-type.

Most homozygotes survive embryogenesis.

Older cultures of POSH74 stocks often contain dead larvae and pupae that are heavily melanised.

POSH74 adults injected with E. coli show significantly reduced viability compared to control flies.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

A POSH74 background partially suppresses the small eye phenotype found upon expression of egrScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The neuromuscular junction synaptic overgrowth and larval locomotion deficits along with the abnormal brain accumulations of POSH protein induced by Scer\GAL4nSyb.PS-driven expression of Hsap\CHMP2BIntron5.UAS is ameliorated by POSH74 homozygosity, which also decreases the elevated cell death in the larval brain.
