Expression of AkhRJF03256 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU in adult females does not affect locomotor activity in fed conditions, compared to controls; unlike controls, locomotor activity is not significantly increased under starvation conditions; loss of starvation-induced hyperactivity is also seen when AkhRJF03256 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4nSyb.PY or Scer\GAL4Tdc2.PC, but not Scer\GAL4ppl.PP or Scer\GAL4Gr5a.8.5; Scer\GAL4nSyb.PY-induced expression does not affect the starvation-induced increase in food intake and does not affect feeding behavior under starvation conditions, compared to controls.

AkhR knock-down in Insulin Producing Cells (Scer\GAL4Ilp2.215-1-mediated expression of AkhRJF03256) does not result in increased adiposity.
