Detailed Description

In gogoH1675/gogoD1600 embryos the axons of ap-expressing neurons are mildly disorganized, with no impact on the overall organization of the Fas2-immunopositive scaffold.

Homozygous gogoH1675 eyes (generated using the eyFLP system) display a severe phenotype, with incomplete medulla rotation and the formation of abnormal bundles through an ectopic chiasm.

Photoreceptor axons do not project correctly in the optic lobe of gogoH1675 eye-brain complexes in third instar larvae, while the photoreceptor cells themselves are appropriately specified.

All photoreceptors are present and properly located in tangential sections of the eye in animals in which the retina is homozygous (induced using the eyFLP method), but these animals show defects in the projections of photoreceptor axons.
