Expression of sNPF-RDN.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL41003.3 and Scer\GAL80tsh-GAL80 or Scer\GAL4ppk.PG, but not Scer\GAL4GMR72F11, in larvae significantly reduces nociceptive movement responses following stimulation with a von Frey filament, compared to controls; in the case of Scer\GAL41003.3 and Scer\GAL80tsh-GAL80, or Scer\GAL4ppk.PG, there is no effect on the response to gentle touch, compared to controls; expression under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG does not affect the latency of rolling in response to high temperature (local) stimulation, compared to controls.

Flies expressing sNPF-RDN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sNPF-R.2.5 show significantly decreased food consumption compared to controls.

Expression of sNPF-RScer\UAS.DN using Scer\GAL4MJ94 has little effect on size.

Expression of sNPF-RScer\UAS.DN using Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR decreases body size by 10%.
