UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of Sox21aJF02191 under the control of Scer\GAL4Su(H).GBE (using GAL80ts for temporal control) induces rapid accumulation of enteroblast-like cells in the intestinal epithelium.
Somatic MARCM clones of cells expressing Sox21aJF02191 under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU in the adult posterior midgut are significantly smaller compared to the control clones, although the overall number of clones recovered is comparable. Expression driven by the Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 driver also reduces proliferation of intestinal stem cells in the adult gut.
The increased cell proliferation observed upon expression of either hepScer\UAS.cBa or Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 in the adult gut is strongly suppressed by co-expression Sox21aJF02191.
