      Animals expressing DifScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB (induced by a 30 minute heat-shock treatment 9 or 10 hours after puparium formation) have persistent salivary glands at 18 hours after puparium formation. Persistent salivary glands do not show delays in salivary gland cell death.
