UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of the Eph coding region. The 5' and 3' untranslated regions are not included in the construct, and nucleotides 475-486 of the cDNA sequence have been replaced with a Cavener consensus start site placed directly in front of the putative signal sequence (TTTCGAGAATGT has been changed to CAATCAAAATGG).
Expression of EphScer\UAS.cSa under the control of any one of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4, Scer\GAL4elav.PLu, Scer\GAL4ftz.ng or Scer\GAL4GMR.PF does not result in a mutant phenotype.
Expression of EphScer\UAS.cSa under the simultaneous control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 and Scer\GAL4elav.PLu results in axon fascicles in the ventral nerve cord occasionally appearing somewhat defasciculated.
