Description

Imprecise excision of the progenitor insertion has resulted in a 1518bp deletion starting 83bp upstream of the Rbsn-5 5' UTR and covering the ATG codon, the first exon and 455bp of the second exon of Rbsn-5. The deletion does not extend into the neighbouring CG8552 gene.

      Homozygotes (zygotic mutants) die during the first larval instar stage, while embryos lacking both maternal and zygotic Rbsn-5 function die early during embryogenesis.

      Adult wings containing homozygous clones have patches of tissue with planar cell polarity defects.
