Expression of Nedd8^HMS00818 RNAi under the control of Scer\GAL4^Act5C.PU (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the RNAi expression to the adult stage) results in the loss of germline stem cell and death of differentiated cells in adult testes.

Ectopic expression of Nedd8^HMS00818 under the control of Scer\GAL4^{mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16} results in a nurse cell ring canal phenotype in the egg chambers: disorganized F-actin cytoskeleton, accumulation of the kel protein in the lumen and significantly smaller lumen diameter compared to wild-type.
