Embryos expressing AckKD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 are highly disorganised.

Expression of AckKD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB in 6 to 12 hour embryos using a 1 hour heat shock results in approximately half the embryos failing to survive to the first larval instar stage. Of the dead embryos, 34% have germband retraction failures, 15% have holes in the dorsal cuticle (indicating failure of dorsal closure) and 35% do not secrete any cuticle. In addition, most of the embryos with dorsal holes also have head defects.

Flies expressing AckKD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL471B have rounded, spread-out wings with frequent blisters and ectopic veins.

Flies expressing AckKD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have rough eyes which are smaller than normal. The eyes almost completely lack ommatidia. Bristles are missing in the posterior two-thirds of the eye, while clusters of bristles are present at the anterior end.
