R15term
Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
cosH29 homozygous follicle cell clones show an excess of polar/stalk cells, as compared to controls; clones in the germarium, however, are of comparable sizes to control clones.
Homozygous clones in the eye induced using the ey-FLP/FRT system result in overgrowth of the eye. Most of the overgrown tissue is cos[+], suggesting that the clone acts non-autonomously (which is confirmed by analysing clones in the eye disc). Overgrowth is also seen in the head cuticle and the antennae.
Homozygous clones in the eye disc that cross the morphogenetic furrow (MF) boundary are associated with additional BrdU incorporation at the boundary of the clone. Within mutant clones anterior to the MF, there is a marked decrease in BrdU incorporation compared to controls.
Homozygous clones in the eye induced using the ey-FLP cell-lethal method result in eyes that are smaller than normal. Overgrowth of the head cuticle and antenna is seen in these animals.
cosH29 has visible | somatic clone | cell non-autonomous phenotype, suppressible | somatic clone by ci75.UAS.cKa/Scer\GAL4Tub.PU
cosH29 is a suppressor of increased cell death phenotype of hidGMR.PG
cosH29 has eye | somatic clone | cell non-autonomous phenotype, suppressible | somatic clone by ci75.UAS.cKa/Scer\GAL4Tub.PU
Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PZ, ciCe-2.UAS.Tag:HA, cosH29, hidGMR.PG has eye phenotype
DeltaRevF10/Dl[+], Ser[+]/SerRX82, cosH29, hidGMR.PG has eye phenotype
Eyes mosaic for cosH29 (generated using the ey-FLP/FRT system) moderately suppress the WGMR.PG eye phenotype. This suppression is cell non-autonomous.
Eye discs mosaic for cosH29 (generated using the ey-FLP/FRT system) suppress the WGMR.PG cell death phenotype by increasing the apoptosis resistance of neighbouring non-mutant cells - cosH29 clones themselves are unprotected from WGMR.PG-induced apoptosis. This cell non-autonomous suppression occurs only in the first, and not the second, apoptotic wave.
The suppression of the WGMR.PG eye phenotype seen in eyes mosaic for cosH29 (generated using the ey-FLP/FRT system) is reverted by expression of ciCe-2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 (via the MARCM system) in the cosH29 clones.
The suppression of the WGMR.PG eye phenotype seen in eyes mosaic for cosH29 (generated using the ey-FLP/FRT system) is abrogated by heterozygosity for Df(1)N-8, or both DlRevF10 and SerRX82.
Expression of ci75.Scer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU in cosH29 clones in the eye suppresses the overgrowth phenotype caused by the cosH29 clones.
