Imprecise excision of the progenitor insertion, resulting in a deletion of part of Eogt, which extends from -171 to +673 relative to the start codon.
Homozygotes die at the second instar larval stage, remaining at this stage for up to 48 hours before dying. A few escapers reach the third larval instar.
Homozygous clones in the adult thorax result in a vortex phenotype.
Homozygous clones in the wing result in deformed wings with blisters.
Expression of EogtGD5084 under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa results in wing blistering specifically within the posterior compartment. This phenotype has almost complete penetrance at 27[o]C, and is not seen at 22.5[o]C. Eogtex10/+ enhances the phenotype, so that wing blistering with a penetrance of up to 30% is seen at 22.5[o]C.
Eogtex10 has lethal phenotype, suppressible by Hsap\EOGTTub.PM
Eogtex10 has lethal phenotype, non-suppressible by Mmus\Pomgnt2Tub.PM
Expression of Hsap\EOGTTub.PM rescues the lethality of Eogtex10 homozygotes. The rescued animals have no visible mutant phenotype.
Expression of Mmus\Gtdc2Tub.PM does not rescue the lethality of Eogtex10 homozygotes.
Eogtex10 is rescued by EogtUAS.cMa/Scer\GAL4Tub.PU
Eogtex10 is not rescued by EogtUAS.cMa/Scer\GAL4hs.PU
Eogtex10 is not rescued by EogtUAS.cMa/Scer\GAL4Act.PU
Expression of EogtScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU, but not under the control of either Scer\GAL4hs.PU or Scer\GAL4Act.PU, rescues Eogtex10 homozygotes to adulthood.
