Scer\GAL4repo.PL + Scer\GAL4repo.PU-mediated expression of Mmp1f2.Scer\UAS, activated in larval stages via use of Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B, results in death within 8 hours at the restrictive temperature.

The tracheal length of stage 16 embryos when Mmp1f2.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS is 15% longer than in controls. Tracheal length is similar to wild type in stage 14 embryos.

The tracheal diameter of stage 16 embryos does not differ from wild type when Mmp1f2.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS. The increase in tracheal diameter that normally occurs at embryonic stage 14 does not occur.

Expression of Mmp1f2.Scer\UAS in border cells, driven by Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 does not affect the formation of the egg chamber apical cap or the migration of the border cell cluster to the oocyte.
