Intestinal stem cell MARCM clones in the adult midgut expressing Tis11dsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU are significantly larger than control clones at both 3 and 7 days post clone induction, but the ratio between enteroendocrine cells and enterocytes is not perturbed. Flies expressing Tis11dsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 combined with tub-Gal80[ts] to limit time of expression (as well as flies of the same genotype but also carrying Scer\GAL80Su(H).GBE) display increased number of mitotic cells following a stress stimulus (either Erwinia carotovora carotovora infection or a 60 min heat-shock) but no difference is observed in the absence of a proliferative stimuli.
No significant difference in size is observed between Tis11d00685-expressing clones (controlled by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU) and the control ones in either larval brains or wing discs.
