The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

Cad74A is expressed in polar cells in early oogenesis. At stage 10B, it is expressed in all follicle cells contacting the oocyte except for the roof cells.
Cad74A is expressed in a dynamic pattern starting in late oogenesis. From stage S10 and onwards, Cad74A is expressed in all columnar follicle cells except in two dorsolateral patches. It is also expressed in the border cells, but only after migrating from the anterior of the egg chamber to the oocyte/nurse cell boundary. Throughout the later stages of oogenesis, Cad74A is expressed in the floor cells of the dorsal appendages and in the main body follicle cells.
Several cadherin genes are expressed in an overlapping pattern in the developing posterior spiracles. Cad74A transcript is expressed a group of less elongated spiracle cells. Cad88C and Cad96Cb are expressed in a group of spiracle cells located more deeply in the spiracular chamber than the Cad74A-expressing cells, while Cad86C is expressed in a row of stigmatophore cells surrounding the spiracular chamber.
Expression assayed at stages 9, 11, 13, and 17. Expression may be continuous between assayed stages in some tissues.
Cad74A localizes to the apical membranes in follicle cells. Punctate expression is observed in dorsal midline and floor cells in stage S11/S12 egg chambers.

Please Note FlyBase no longer curates genomic clone accessions so this list may not be complete
Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
"S(CycEJP)3.1" alleles show no alterations in the "Cad74A" gene (as assayed by Southern analysis).
