EcollacZ expression is detected in the wing disc, in regions that will give rise to the notum, the pleura, and the alula. In the eye-antennal disc, expression is restricted to the dorsal region. EcollacZ expression is also detected in a subset of sensory organ precursor cells in the lateral heminotum, including precursors of the presutural and postalar bristles.
