pHRed is a ratiometric, single-protein red fluorescent sensor of pH. The emission spectrum peaks at 610nm, while it exhibits dual excitation peaks at 440 and 585nm that can be used for ratiometric imaging. pHRed was obtained by mutagenesis of mKeima; it contains a A213S substitution relative to the mKeima progenitor (PMID:21631110).
