Reference

Turns on specifically in male germ cells soon after initiation of spermatocyte differentiation and persists throughout the remainder of the primary spermatocyte stage. It disappears as the cells enter the first meiotic division. Some is associated with condensing chromatin but most is localized to the nucleolus.
