Df(1)KA10 hemizygous embryos exhibit head and thorax defects similar to tsg loss of function mutants.

With a very low penetrance, Df(1)KA10 hemizygous embryos show subtle defects in segmentation, including partial fusion of denticle band pairs in the register seen for Ten-m mutants.

10% fw1/Df(1)KA10 female progeny have wing defects; wings are not expanded or appear stringy and have separation of the wing blades. fwU2/Df(1)KA10 transheterozygotes have reduced viability; only 15% female progeny eclose as adults and those that survive have wing defects. fw34e/Df(1)KA10 transheterozygotes do not produce any viable adult females, female lethal phase occurs in the pupal stages.

Heterozygosity for this deletion has no effect on the mutant ovarian phenotype of ovoD2.

Germ-line clones lethal (Garcia-Bellido and Robbins, 1983, Genetics 103: 235-47). duplicated ventral nerve cord in hemizygous embryos cell lethal
