Mutant embryos show a reduced level of phagocytosis of apoptotic cells compared to controls.

Dorsal closure is incomplete in scb01288 embryos, which arrests cardial cell migration prior to closure of the heart vessel. Unlike in wild-type embryos, the cardial cells are adjacent to the aminoserosa during early and late development.

Embryos exhibit failure of dorsal closure. Some embryos undergo secondary closure and some of these hatch. Embryos show vigorous muscular movements of the cuticle, muscle attachment sites appear normal.

sli2/+, scb01288/+ embryos show delayed migration of cardial cells, contralaterally placed cardial cell nuclei and clumping of heart cells. Dorsal closure is delayed in these embryos but is complete at hatching.

lea2/+, scb01288/+ embryos show a heart formation phenotype, including the appearance of contralaterally placed cardial cell nuclei.

Suppresses the S phase defects seen in the CycEJP eye disc.
