Heterozygous males have a rudimentary seventh tergite. Abd-B^Sz/Abd-B^Fab7-1 males show a reduction in size of both the sixth and seventh abdominal tergites to the size of the seventh abdominal tergite in Abd-B^Sz/+ males.

The penetrance of the Abd-B^iab7-PRE-56 phenotype is increased to approximately 10% in combination with Abd-B^Sz.

Segments A6 and A7 show a more posterior identity when heterozygous with Abd-B^- than when hemizygous.
