Detailed Description

Heterozygous males have a rudimentary seventh tergite. Abd-BSz/Abd-BFab7-1 males show a reduction in size of both the sixth and seventh abdominal tergites to the size of the seventh abdominal tergite in Abd-BSz/+ males.

The penetrance of the Abd-Biab7-PRE-56 phenotype is increased to approximately 10% in combination with Abd-BSz.

Segments A6 and A7 show a more posterior identity when heterozygous with Abd-B- than when hemizygous.

Males exhibit a rudimentary 7th tergite: parasegment 12 is completely transformed into parasegment 11.

Homeotic transformation of parasegment 12 to 11.

Comments

Abd-Biab8-D14 weakly complements the iab-7 loss of function mutant Abd-BSz in segment A7 in males. Abd-Biab8-D16 does not complement the iab-7 loss of function mutant Abd-BSz in segment A7 in males.
