Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Embryos exhibit gap defects.

Cell death is dramatically increased in the mutant embryo, most cells in the kni expression domain die. Although no extra mesoderm cells are induced to become hemocytes the macrophages become larger than average. Cellular debris becomes located extracellularly in the hemolymph.

Segments A1 to A7 are fused into a single denticle belt in kniunspecified mutant embryos.

The terminal regions of kniunspecified tllunspecified double mutants develop a single large denticle band. Triple mutant kniunspecified gtunspecified tllunspecified embryos develop a lawn of denticles which extends from the terminal into the abdominal region of the embryo.

kniunspecified/kniunspecified Egfrt1/Egfrf11 double homozygotes show a simple additive phenotype. EgfrE3/+ shows a negative interaction in combination with kniunspecified/kniunspecified.
