Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Retinal axon projection defects are found in clones covering the entire eye. Mosaics exhibiting loss of the optic nerve, but gl+ photoreceptors, do not show aberrant retinal projections suggesting the larval optic nerve is not required as a pioneer in retinal axon guidance. Clones of gl- cells surrounded by wild type cells in the eye demonstrate wild type retinal fascicles are found in approximately correct dorsoventral positions despite the aberrant behaviour of their mutant neighbours.
