Heterozygous males have a reduced number of sex comb teeth on the first leg. ScrWrv4/ScrTpl9 males (in which the haplolethality of the Df(3R)Tpl9 chromosome has been rescued by Dp(3;3)Dfdrv1) show 94% viability and have an average of 2.1 sex comb teeth per first leg. Scr4/ScrWrv4 males have an average of 0.04 sex comb teeth on the first leg (compared to 10.8 per leg in wild type). ScrMsc/ScrWrv4 males have no ectopic sex comb teeth on the second legs. ScrMsc/ScrWrv4 males have no ectopic sex comb teeth on the third legs. ScrWIN11/ScrWrv4 males have no sex comb teeth on the first leg. ScrCP1/ScrWrv4 males have no sex comb teeth on the first leg. ScrLIN/ScrWrv4 males have an average of 3.8 sex comb teeth on the first leg.
Revertant for the 'Scx' phenotype (extra sex combs on the meso- and metathoracic legs). Shows a Scr phenotype.
The viability and average number of sex comb teeth per first leg in ScrTpl9/ScrWrv4 males (in which the haplolethality of the Df(3R)Tpl9 chromosome has been rescued by Dp(3;3)Dfdrv1) is not affected if they are also carrying z1, za or z11G3.
