Heterozygotes show mild transformations of haltere to wing.

Antpunspecified Ubxunspecified embryos show transformation of the mesothoracic, metathoracic and first abdominal segments towards the prothoracic segment, and have bilaterally symmetric regions of sclerotised cuticle in the mesothoracic and metathoracic segments.

Dominant mutation. Ubxunspecified/Df(3R)P115 tissue in the posterior compartment of the mesothoracic legs shows transformation to the posterior compartment of the prothoracic leg in gynandromorphs.

Homozygous larvae have four intracortical bands, one at each of the first four neuromeres in the central nervous system.

The severity of wing phenotypes caused by homozygous Asxxen-72-3 mutant clones is reduced in a heterozygous Ubxunspecified mutant background. For example, no necrotic or dual-lobed wings are observed. In addition, the percentage of wing blisters or folded/bent wings is reduced and fewer flies have crumpled wings. In some cases, ripples are associated with visible clones containing small cells, whereas other ripples are not associated with the presence of smaller cells.

Scrunspecified, Antpunspecified, Ubxunspecified, abd-Aunspecified, Abd-Bunspecified mutants are profoundly affected in their development with abnormal or twisted dorsal closure.

Expression of vgScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-md653 in a Ubxunspecified/+ background results in enhanced transformation of the haltere to wing.

The sensitivity of the metanotal transformation of the Ubxunspecified/Ubxbx-34e genotype to chromosomal rearrangements has been studied in the presence and absence of za.
