Description

UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a constitutively active form of Hsap\ELK1 in which Hsap\ELK1 sequences C-terminal to amino acid residue 307 (which includes the transcriptional activation domain) have been replaced by the VP16 transcriptional activation domain.

      When expressed under the influence of Scer\GAL4tracheal, extra cytoplasmic processes, which go on to form lumens, and terminal branches form. Outgrowth occurs earlier than usual and in an unregulated fashion. The extra cytoplasmic processes do not grow towards their usual targets, but in random directions. This is completely dependent upon the endogenous bs gene function.
