Heat induction of sog expression during a broad period of oogenesis leads to ventralization of the embryonic cuticle. A high percentage of eggs from these females remain unfertilized. Overexpression during stage 10 leads to ventralization of egg shell structures.
Expression of soghs.PY in embryos results in a small decrease in the number of amnioserosa cells.
Heat induced expression during third instar larvae causes over 90% mortality, the few escapers have wild type wings. Heat induced expression between 0 and 16 hours and between 28 and 40 hours after pupariation causes truncation of wing vein L4. Heat induced expression between 16 and 28 hours causes truncation of wing vein L4 and L5 and/or the posterior crossvein. Heat-induced expression after 40 hours has no effect.
soghs.PY is a suppressor | partially of amnioserosa phenotype of tsgunspecified
tsgunspecified embryos lack amnioserosa cells. This phenotype is partially rescued by the expression of soghs.PY.
soghs.PY partially rescues sogunspecified
Partially rescues the reduction in the number of amnioserosa cells seen in sogunspecified embryos.
