fz2Scer\UAS.cZa, Scer\GAL4en-e16E embryos lose type 1 denticles. This is seen in all embryos, although at times, one or two segments remain unaffected.

Overexpression of fz2Scer\UAS.cZa does not affect the wild-type denticle pattern.

When expression is driven by Scer\GAL469B, supernumerary stout mechanosensory bristles appear one or two cell diameters from the normal row, supernumerary slender mechanosensory bristles and chemosensory bristles appear one or more rows from the wing margin and supernumerary posterior hairs appear in the interior of the posterior wing. Ectopic bristles are more numerous near the margin, and the type of ectopic bristle formed correlates with its distance from the margin; those close to the margin are of the stout mechanosensory type, whereas those further distant are of the slender mechanosensory or chemosensory types. When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4hs.2sev, ommatidia are normally oriented and otherwise unaffected. Suppresses wing margin loss phenotype of fz2Scer\UAS.N.
