Expression of dveScer\UAS.cNa in all cells in the midgut under the control of Scer\GAL448Y results on impaired gut functions, with a reduction in acid secretion and a slight reduction copper absorption.

Expression of dveScer\UAS.cNa in all cells in the midgut under the control of Scer\GAL4NP3012 results in impaired gut functions, with a reduction in acid secretion and a slight reduction copper absorption.

Expression of dveScer\UAS.cNa under the control of Scer\GAL4NP3157 or Scer\GAL4NP3207 does not affect gut function.

Expression of dveScer\UAS.cNa under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.PM results in a variable wing phenotype, with some adults only having rudimentary wings and others having notched wings.

Expression of dveScer\UAS.cNa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB using heat shock at stage 17 results in abnormal morphology of copper cells; the typical banana shape of the cells is often lost, with the cells becoming circular.
