Embryos expressing amosScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4h-1J3 show increased numbers of sensory neurons in segments that misexpress amos. Ectopic multiple dendritic neurons, ectopic chordotonal neurons in the lateral region and ectopic neurons in the dorsal group are induced. Embryos expressing amosScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 have ectopic multiple dendritic (MD) neurons throughout the segments. The MD neurons in the v and v' groups are frequently misplaced at a more ventral position. A slight increase in the number of chordotonal neurons in the lateral region is also seen. Expression of amosScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB using a 10 minute heat shock just after puparium formation results in ectopic bristles in the wing.

The ectopic neuron phenotype produced by expression of amosScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 is suppressed by one copy of da10. Expression of both amosScer\UAS.cHa and daScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 results in the induction of numerous elav-positive neurons. Rescues chordotonal neuron formation in odd segments in ato1 embryos when expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4h-1J3.
