Some metaphase furrows in embryos derived from AP-2α^SH0460 germline clones are lost in patches across each embryo, and those furrows present surround many DNA elements, unlike in controls. These two phenotypes overlap: regions of embryos lacking actin rings also lack plasma membrane furrows.

α-Adaptin^SH0460 mutant larval brains contain supernumerary neuroblasts but few differentiated neurons in the central brain.
