Mis-expression of shn, through expression of shnScer\UAS.cMa in the entire circadian circuit through Scer\GAL4tim.PE results in a lengthening of daily activity rhythms.
Expression of shn in the adult, but not during development, through two copies shnScer\UAS.cMa under the control of both Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf and Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B (at the restrictive temperature during development), results in a significant period lengthening of 2 hours, evident immediately after the temperature shift. These flies do not exhibit changes in circuit morphology.
Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf, shnUAS.cMa has abnormal circadian rhythm phenotype, suppressible | partially by ClkUAS.cZa, Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf
Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf, shnUAS.cMa has abnormal circadian rhythm phenotype, suppressible by perUAS.cYa/Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf
Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf, shnUAS.cMa has abnormal circadian rhythm phenotype, suppressible | partially by ClkTag:V5, Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf
shnUAS.cMa/Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf is a suppressor of abnormal circadian rhythm phenotype of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf, perUAS.cYa
ClkUAS.cZa, Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf, shnUAS.cMa has abnormal circadian rhythm phenotype
Co-expression of perScer\UAS.cYa and shnScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf results in highly rhythmic flies, with periods close to 24 hours.
The presence of ClkT:SV5\V5 partially rescues the long period phenotype found upon expression of shnScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf.
Co-expression of ClkScer\UAS.cZa with shnScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf results in an intermediate phenotype, with a shorter period than in Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf->shnScer\UAS.cMa flies, but a longer period than in Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf->ClkScer\UAS.cZa flies.
