Detailed Description

Adults expressing rtdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU have significantly decreased climbing ability compared to control flies.

Expression of rtdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU results in some lethality, which increases as the temperature is increased.

Expression of rtdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU, but not Scer\GAL4elav.PU or Scer\GAL4repo, results in a significant decrease in the median lifespan of flies compared to controls.

At 25oC, flies expressing rtdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb have a viability of 19%, while at 28oC, the viability is 0%. Adult escapers expressing rtdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb show a clockwise twisted abdomen phenotype (the phenotype is seen in both males and females).

The penetrance of the blistered wing phenotype caused by expression of DgdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E is significantly enhanced by co-expression of rtdsRNA.Scer\UAS at 28[o]C.

Animals expressing both Pomt2dsRNA.Scer\UAS and rtdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb show complete lethality.
