Flies that express PargScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 are lethal; stage of lethality is dependent on insertion site and dosage of the transgene and driver. Cells expressing PargScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP, under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32, show fragmented nucleoli. Third instar larvae expressing PargScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 fail to recover from a 40-min heat shock to the same extent as wild-type larvae (60% of mutants survive vs 99% of controls).
PargUAS.EGFP, Scer\GAL4da.G32 has lethal phenotype, suppressible by Parp1I.UAS.DsRed(Unk), Scer\GAL4da.G32
The lethality that results from expression of PargScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 is rescued when ParpI.Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP is coexpressed.
Expression of PargScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL469B rescues the lethality of Parg27.1 animals.
