Expression of talNoB.Scer\UAS in the dorsal leg, under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1, produces transformation of the distal tibia and fusion to tarsus 1, and ectopic sex combs in tarsi 1 and 2. These phenotypes are compatible with a transformation of tibial identity towards tarsus.

Ectopic expression of talNoB.Scer\UAS in the embryonic head, under the control of Scer\GAL4Dll-md23 produces extra sclerotised elements in the cephalopharyngeal skeleton.
