Expression of ICA69GD7020 under the control of either Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU or Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU (but not Scer\GAL4elav-C155) results in significant decrease in the average bouton area, bouton number and in total number of branches in neuromuscular junctions in third instar larvae compared to controls.
ICA69GD7020 expression driven by either Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU or Scer\GAL4elav-C155 does not affect neuromuscular junction synapse retraction in third instar larvae, neither are any synaptic electrophysiology defects observed upon Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU-driven expression.
Adults expressing ICA69GD7020 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

However, the Rab2HMS01271 RNAi-induced NMJ defects can be rescued by co-expression of ICA69Scer\UAS.FL.
The neuromuscular junction structural defects (reduced bouton area and number, decreased total number of branches) observed in ICA69GS13474/Df(3L)BSC553 third instar larvae is rescued by expression of ICA69Scer\UAS.FL under the control of either Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU or Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU (but not Scer\GAL4elav-C155).
