Expression of Nlg4GD3083 under the control of any of the following drivers: Scer\GAL4ort.C1-4, Scer\GAL4ChAT.7.4 or Scer\GAL4oc.1.6 (but not Scer\GAL4GMR31C06) results in the aberrant projection of axons of the L4 lamina neurons into adjacent columns in the adult medulla. Expression in individual lamina neurons - using Scer\GAL4c202a, Scer\GAL421D, Scer\GAL4DBD.R75H07.T:Zzzz\Zip- combined with Hsap\RELAAD.R64B03.T:Zzzz\Zip+ and Scer\GAL4DBD.R31H09.T:Zzzz\Zip- combined with Hsap\RELAAD.R21A05.T:Zzzz\Zip+ drivers does not disturb axonal targeting in these neurons.

Expression of Nlg4GD3083 under the control of Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6 (but not Scer\GAL4C57) leads to decreased bouton number and increased bouton size on neuromuscular junctions in third instar larval stage.

Expression of Nlg4GD3083, under the control of Scer\GAL4per.PK or Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf leads to abnormal sleep, with reduced seep time and increased sleep latency. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4104Y, Scer\GAL4repo, Scer\GAL4VGlut-OK371, Scer\GAL4c819 and Scer\GAL4pain-GAL4 leads to abnormalities in sleep, although not to a statistically significant extent.

Flies expressing Nlg4GD3083 under the control of Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B and Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf exhibit a progressive delay of sleep onset latency after switching to 30[o]C. Two days after shifting back to 25[o]C, Nlg4GD3083 Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B/Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf flies still show longer sleep onset latency and less total night sleep time, whereas control flies exhibit normal sleep behaviour.

Adults expressing Nlg4GD3083 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in lethality before the pupal stage, depending on the insertion line used.
